Responsibilities

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Specialist to join the International Securities Settlement Team within Corporate and Investment Banking Operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing fixed income prematching and ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of international fixed income and equity trading activities across all WF entities on the settlement date.
The team works closely with global custodians and key business partners, including Sales and Trading desks, DCM, Middle Office, Risk and Control Teams, to effectively manage exception-driven events. These events encompass a wide range of activities such as fail management, reconciliations, buy-ins, repo settlements, DCM primary activities, stock loan support, prime brokerage support, re-alignment services, corporate actions, 144A/RegS exchanges, ADR conversions, security and cash position breaks, and asset segregation processing.
As a part of this dynamic team, you will engage in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trades, focusing on daily Business as Usual (BAU) activities to monitor settlement status, perform asset segregation, depo realignment, and input wires. Additionally, you will be responsible for reconciling global cash and security movements, ensuring daily balancing with our Global Custodians, including CSDR fees.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trades.
  • Focus on daily BAU to monitor settlement status, perform asset segregation, depo realignment, input wires. Reconcile global cash and security movements and daily balancing with our Global Custodians, also CSDR fees.
  • Investigate daily breaks reason and report to CASS team timely and appropriately.
  • Participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks, especially upcoming market change UK & EU T+1.
  • Raise ideas for process improvements within Securities Operations, work on operational efficiency by using existing automation tools.
  • Resolve daily BAU issues on a full process within a trade environment while leveraging basic understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; escalate issues to management timely.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues, minimize operational and control risk, and achieve goals.
  • Resolve moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security Operations.
  • Support new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination among operation teams and perform analysis for initiatives that support business strategies making decisions on matters with financial impact and risk.
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
