Institutional Sales – Senior Role Chennai | Reports to: Regional Head Role Overview DSP Mutual Fund is looking for a seasoned institutional sales professional to grow its presence in the Chennai market. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role the incumbent will be the leading and managing all institutional clients in Chennai, spanning Family Offices, large corporates, and mid-sized corporates. The role demands equal depth in new client acquisition and deepening existing relationships . Key Responsibilities Client Ownership & Revenue Growth Serve as the institutional SPOC for Chennai owning the full client relationship lifecycle from onboarding to portfolio deepening. Drive AUM growth and revenue market share across assigned family offices, large corporates, and mid-sized corporates in all asset classes. Deliver superior gross sales, net sales, and wallet share outcomes consistently across market cycles. New Client Acquisition Proactively identify, prospect, and onboard new institutional clients across the Chennai market with a focus on untapped family office and corporate treasury segments. Reactivate lapsed or dormant investor relationships through targeted outreach and tailored engagement strategies. Build a strong pipeline by leveraging market intelligence, referrals, and industry networks. Deepening Existing Relationships Maintain active, consultative engagement with existing institutional clients through regular digital and face-to-face interactions, market updates, and bespoke product conversations. Advise clients on macro-economic developments, fund house views, and relevant asset class opportunities ensuring top-of-mind recall for DSP. Market Intelligence & Collaboration Track and share timely, structured feedback on competitor activity, deal structures, and market developments with the Regional Head. Leverage MIS, CRM, and market data tools to drive disciplined, data-backed sales activity and pipeline management. What We're Looking For Domain Knowledge Strong command of capital markets: equity and fixed income along with a deep understanding of mutual fund products and macro-economic drivers. Familiarity with the institutional landscape of Chennai including family office structures, corporate treasury behaviour, and local market dynamics. Working knowledge of institutional sales processes, deal structuring, and client governance frameworks. Competencies & Mindset Entrepreneurial and self-driven, comfortable operating as a market owner with minimal hand-holding, especially in ambiguous or complex client/deal situations. Demonstrated ability to build deep, trust-based relationships with sophisticated institutional stakeholders. Experience & Qualifications Experience 12+ years in institutional investment sales and business development, with a proven track record in the Chennai / South India market. Education MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree in Finance or related field. Certifications CFA, CWM, or CFP preferred. AMFI certification required.
