QUALIFICATIONS:
IA I: List on application experience that is relevant to this position. Previous experience working with groups of children. All applicants must attach one of the required materials below to pre-qualify.
In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license
IA II: List on application experience that is relevant to this position. Instructional Assistant II’s mild/moderate - working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Example of typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education and supporting the teacher’s needs. Instructional Assistant IIIs support our severe/emotionally disturbed students. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
Severe/Emotionally Disturbed - working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. Experience working with groups of children; experience working with impaired children or adults highly desirable; coursework in child development highly desirable. Must pre-qualify by attaching your High School Diploma or equivalent and one document [A or B] from the following list:
[A] Passing score from San Juan Unified School District’s Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam will be accepted. **Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
