A full-time paraprofessional opportunity is available within an elementary school serving grades K-8 in the Sanford, ME area for the upcoming school year. This contract position involves working closely with students in 1:1 settings, providing individualized support and assistance to enhance their educational experience.
Ideal candidates will have experience working as paraprofessionals or hold relevant certifications such as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) credentials. The role requires patience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners in a classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct, personalized support to students in 1:1 instructional settings
  • Assist classroom teachers with implementing educational plans and behavior strategies
  • Support students social, emotional, and academic growth throughout the school day
  • Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with teaching staff
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional preferred; RBT or ABA certifications accepted
  • Ability to work effectively with K-8 students across various abilities and needs
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering student development and collaboration with educators
