POSITION OVERVIEW

The Instructional Coach at Championship Academy of Distinction is a key member of the academic leadership team. This role is designed to build teacher capacity and accelerate student achievement by supporting high-quality instruction, data-driven practices, and compliance with charter school performance expectations. The coach serves as a non-evaluative partner, providing job-embedded professional learning, modeling, co-teaching, and actionable feedback aligned with the school’s instructional priorities and accountability goals. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in evidence-based instruction, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with educators.

Responsibilities
  1. Coaching and Support
    · Provide differentiated coaching to teachers through modeling, co-teaching, observation, and feedback cycles.
    · Facilitate one-on-one and small-group coaching conversations grounded in student work and data.
    · Use a strengths-based approach to help teachers reflect, plan, and refine instruction.
  2. Professional Development
    · Design and deliver high-impact professional learning aligned to school-wide priorities, district/state standards, and staff needs.
    · Lead data dives, planning sessions, and collaborative learning communities (PLCs).
    · Support implementation of curriculum resources, technology tools, and intervention programs.
  3. Data-Driven Instruction
    · Analyze formative and summative student data (including NWEA, FAST, and state assessments) to inform instructional decision-making.
    · Collaborate with staff to plan and monitor instructional interventions and tiered supports.
    · Guide the use of data protocols and progress monitoring tools.
  4. Curriculum, Compliance & Instructional Leadership
    · Ensure curriculum and instructional practices are aligned with Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards and school goals.
    · Support implementation of inclusive practices that meet the needs of ELLs, students with disabilities, and students performing below grade level.
    · Assist in preparing instructional artifacts, reports, and documentation required for charter school accountability, state reporting, and school improvement planning (SIP).
    · Monitor and help ensure instructional practices align with compliance expectations under the school’s charter contract, including ESSA and Title I requirements.
  5. Collaborative Leadership
    · Partner with school leadership to ensure coherence in instructional vision and academic initiatives.
    · Participate in leadership team meetings, charter renewal preparation, school improvement planning, and walkthroughs.
    · Promote a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and shared accountability.
    Qualifications
    Required:
    · Valid Florida Teaching Certificate
    · Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably in a K–8 setting
    · Demonstrated success in raising student achievement
    · Deep knowledge of instructional strategies, curriculum standards, and adult learning theory
    · Experience using student performance data to improve instruction
    Preferred:
    · Experience as an instructional coach, team lead, or curriculum developer
    · Background in literacy, mathematics, or supporting special populations (ESOL, ESE)
    · Familiarity with NWEA MAP Growth, Lexia, or similar assessment/intervention platforms
    · Understanding of school accountability and charter school compliance metrics
    · Knowledge of coaching frameworks (e.g., Jim Knight, Diane Sweeney, Elena Aguilar, Bambrick-Santoyo)

    Work Environment
