The Instructional Coach will support grades K-2 instructional staff across disciplines with facilitating high-quality learning experiences, differentiating instruction, utilizing meaningful student assessments to inform instruction, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment. He/She will also be directly involved in the NPS Mentoring & Induction Program.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors DegreeMA certification or the ability to be certified in (at least one of the following): Early Childhood EducationElementary Education3-5 years of successful K-5 public school teaching experience with proficient evaluation ratingsKnowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for the relevant disciplinesIdeal Candidate: Professional teaching licenseExperience in coaching and mentoring is highly preferredStrong understanding of mathematical and literacy pedagogies, curriculum design, and assessmentCommitment to culturally responsive teaching and fostering an inclusive classroom environmentExcellent communication, collaboration, organization and interpersonal skillsAbility to build positive, collaborative relationships with teachers and administratorsStrong data-analysis skillsKnowledgeable of current education research and application to practiceEssential Functions: Works with teachers or teams of teachers to enhance high-quality learning experiences, utilize meaningful student assessments that inform instruction, differentiate instruction, and maintain a safe and effective learning environmentModels lessons and co-teaches to demonstrate effective practicesVisits classrooms and provides constructive feedback to teachersAssists with the planning and facilitation of professional learning on instructional strategies or implementation of adopted curriculum (e.g., Reveal Math, Heggerty, Fundations)Collaborates with colleagues to ensure coherence of curriculum, instruction, and assessment district-wid
