ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Instructional Designer / Content Writer role at PurpleMedia is involved at all stages of our projects. You will need to build strong relationships with client subject-matter experts to ensure that you understand our clients’ content, brands, values and also the needs and working environments of their learners, before working to ensure that these are accurately reflected throughout the content we create. Regular contact with our clients means you’ll need to be professional and reliable while creating effective relationships with people of all levels: from CEOs to Customer Service Representatives. Also, our clients are global in nature, so awareness of, and sensitivity towards, different cultures is vital.
You will need strong written English skills with the ability to understand, simplify and clearly express a range of different content: from technical information to cultural and behavioural programmes. You will also need to be able to arrange source content into clear learning journeys, as well as using your storytelling skills to bring the learning to life.
Finally, you’ll need to be a collaborative worker, able to engage with the different departments in our business that all work together to create amazing results.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicating with customers to obtain information relating to the content of the learning, learning needs, ‘what’s in it for me’ for the audience, and how we are measuring success/ROI. Also, ensuring you understand the information provided, and to seek clarifications (or further information) when you don’t!
  • Arranging client source content into clear learning journeys, focused on satisfying the learning objectives and telling a coherent ‘story’
  • Ensuring any content that we write is clear, expressed in good accurate English, and consistent with our client’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and style guides.

  • Creating engaging, high-quality stories and storyboards
  • Occasionally travelling to meet clients at their premises.
