Job Description The Instructional Designer in the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and MSU Online performs a variety of instructional design functions related to supporting faculty in the planning, development, and delivery of their courses in ways that advance teaching, pedagogy, access and equity practices and socially just learning spaces. Partners with IT Solutions Academic Technology team to use instructional technology tools to design interactive learning content. Manages multiple projects working with subject matter experts to design and build online courses. Research instructional design theories and tools for applicability in learning.http://www.minnstate.edu/board/policy/404.html. Minimum Qualifications Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, with experience managing projects to completion within budget and time constraints in a virtual team environment. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and external parties, and a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive working and learning environment that supports DEI initiatives. Proficiency in using technology tools and learning management systems to design and deliver online and hybrid courses, with experience working as an instructional designer in an online teaching or training environment. Understanding of learning theories, instructional design models, instructional web development, online curriculum, and other instructional methodologies. Experience working with an eLearning authoring system such as Adobe Captivate or Articu-late Storyline. Experience working in e-learning platforms such as Desire2Learn Brightspace. Experience leading stakeholders through coaching and educating on the need for quality course design. Preferred Qualification Master’s degree preferred (Conferred on an official transcript at time of application). Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and orchestrated professional development activities. Creativity and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Experience working with the Quality Matters rubric. Ability to work in and create a positive, productive, and flexible work environment.
