SUMMARY:   The Instructional Designer contributes to the success of First Bank associates by fostering their growth and development through the design of engaging and effective learning solutions. As an architect of learning, the Instructional Designer will employ technology and innovative strategies to construct educational content that’s informative, interactive and engaging. This position leads the design, development and evaluation of training solutions by collaborating with leaders and subject matter experts and by analyzing current learning gaps. This position requires strong knowledge of banking systems, products, operations and capabilities. The Learning Experience Designer contributes to the success of First Bank associates by fostering their growth and development through well-designed and impactful instructional programs.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   * Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer to the job. * Consults with organizational leaders and subject matter experts to identify performance / behavior gaps and serves on project teams to understand the training components of an initiative, the audience(s) and the scope of change to provide appropriate recommendations. * Leverages instructional design knowledge, technology tools and adult learning principles to design e-learning, instructor-led, and virtual training materials and resources. * Develops implementation plans and trainer readiness as needed to support the launch of new programs. Ensures that online programs function as desired and that learners have appropriate access and ability to use the materials and systems required. * Determines criteria used to assess learners’ performance and develop assessment instruments. * Maintains close working relationships with facilitators, performance consultants and learning system administrator. * Maintains and updates existing training materials and content. * Completes annual compliance courses. * Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act. * Adheres to our Service Excellence standards.  * Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.   GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:   Knowledge & Experience:  These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. * Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years’ work experience with a minimum of two years’ experience in training/instructional design and with instructional design technology. * Excellence knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models * Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge with demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite. * Solid knowledge of course development software and learning management systems with audio and video editing skills. * Strong knowledge of banking systems, products, operations and capabilities. * Graphic design skills and ability to storyboard. * Ability to write effective instructional text, audio scripts and video scripts. * Strong interpersonal, organizational and written/verbal communication skills. * Proven experience designing the implementation plan for the release of a new training solution including the training of applicable trainers. * Facilitation experience (classroom and webinar) * Knowledge and application of project management skills.
