MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with an administrative endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education.
  2. ISBE - PERA (Performance Evaluation Reform Act) Certified.
  3. A minimum of (3) three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher.
  4. Experience as an early childhood educator and experience as a coach or supervisor of educators preferred.
  5. Commitment to supporting at-risk families.
  6. Cultural and linguistic competency appropriate to service area.
  7. Such additional qualifications as the Board of Education may deem appropriate.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that the program selects a high-quality curriculum in alignment with the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
  2. Manage program implementation of selected curriculum, assessment tools and any supplemental materials. Align program practices and standards to support quality implementation.
  3. Coordinate teacher training and professional development on selected curricula.
  4. Provide support to classroom education staff in creating lesson plans that are faithful to the curriculum and developmentally appropriate. Review lesson plans and provide teachers with timely feedback and
    recommendations.
  5. Collaborate with classroom education staff to develop individual professional development plans for each staff member.
  6. Identify professional development opportunities offered by funders, regional professional development providers and others that align to teaching staff goals and needs.
  7. Develop and facilitate a professional learning community focused on instructional excellence.
  8. Conduct regular observations in all assigned classrooms and maintain records.
  9. Engage educational staff in individual and group reflective coaching sessions to discuss observations and develop a plan to strengthen challenging areas and build on areas of strength.
  10. Support peer observation and learning between classrooms/sites.
  11. Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops and conferences, to identity resources and materials that will support instructional quality and integrate them into program practices.
  12. Develop internal systems and procedures that advance quality.
