Description

The Instructional Systems Specialist is responsible for developing comprehensive and effective training materials specifically tailored to support FMF maintenance, rebuild, repair, and modification. This position will specialize in military vehicle maintenance. This position needs expertise in instructional systems, combined with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance ensures the vehicle fleet readiness and operational effectiveness. This position is 100% on-site on the Albany, GA area.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Three (3) years of experience. Experience in multimedia or video editing, along with a background in maintenance or mechanics, is considered a plus.
  • Understanding of military vehicle maintenance and manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Ability to analyze data, processes, and maintenance activities and interpret results to inform instructional design decisions.
  • Visual design skills to create clear and engaging digital work instructions.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging instructional materials.
  • Ability to gather information, analyze processes, and document details accurately.
  • General knowledge of and ability to use information technology systems and video recording devices.
  • Ability to perform minor video editing.
  • Experience in multimedia or video editing, along with a background in maintenance or mechanics, is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs and develops comprehensive materials focused on military vehicle maintenance, repair, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy and relevance of training content. Gathers information from subject matter experts while actively engaged in maintenance activities to document processes clearly.
  • Captures video and other relevant information for teardown, maintenance, and rebuild activities on various military vehicle platforms. This will include identifying materials, tools, techniques, technical data, and other relevant information for the maintenance activities being documented with the intent to create training and digital reference materials.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement updates.
  • Develops multimedia materials, including videos, simulations, e-learning modules, digital work instructions, and job aids to enhance the effectiveness of training materials.
  • Breaks down complex tasks into manageable steps with detailed instructions and visuals (images, videos).
  • Utilizing digital authoring tools to create interactive and user-friendly work instructions.
  • Utilizing digital media tools to perform minor editing and staging of videos, such as trimming sections associated with specific activities into individual module videos, inserting overlay items for visual cues, assisting with captioning activities, etc.
  • Deploys new or updated work instructions across relevant departments or production lines
