Classification Title: Instructional Technologist / Lead Instructor Grade: 25-26 (depending on experience) Requisition No.: 2686 Number of Positions: 1 Location: 100 Union Valley Organization: Chief of Staff Department: Training Project Assignment: Posting Date: 07/15/2026 Closing Date: 07/22/2026 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develops and implements UCOR training programs to ensure that employees are trained commensurate to their job responsibilities * Selects and/or develops instructional aides, such as handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids and reference guides * Assists management in determining training needs * May conduct training needs assessments and readiness reviews * Develop training policies and procedures for implementation * Use the SAT/ADDIE process to support the UCOR Training and Development group in designing and developing training material for operational, programmatic and safety disciplines * Work with SMEs to develop training to training solutions which comply with program and regulatory requirements * Qualify (DOE O 426.2A) as Training Manager and Instructional Technologist * Serve as backup Training Manager * Serve as the backup SME for Training * Evaluate instructors on a frequency in accordance with Training Program requirements * Review all end of course evaluations and follow up/resolve any comments/input (revise course, mentor instructors, etc.) * Resolve any comments/input (revise course, mentor instructors, etc.) * Serve as primary Point of Contact to interface between schedulers and instructors to determine course scheduling and forecasting * Create monthly training reports and deliver to the appropriate personnel * Serve as Lead Instructor and supervise full-time Training Program and project instructors * Maintain instructor availability and weekly work demands * Perform other duties as assigned by Training Manager JOB KNOWLEDGE: * Knowledge of DOE training and qualification programs at Category 1, 2, or 3 DOE or commercial facilities * Knowledge and understanding of basic instructor qualifications and standards * Knowledge working with outside auditing and oversight groups including DNFSB, DOE, and other regulatory agencies * Knowledge of the Company organizational structure * Ability to review and approve training materials utilized in the field * Knowledge of existing company training programs, as well as state and federal mandated training, DOE or company mandated training, and developmental training provided both internally and externally * Performs the duties of a Instructional Technologist and Lead Instructor. * Demonstrated success coordinating course schedules and instructor availability. * Demonstrated success in instructing courses including setup, performance, evaluation and tear down of classrooms. Job-Related Qualifications Required: Grade 25: Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 10+ years of experience in training design and implementation in the engineering and construction industry and/or in a specialized area. Level Specific Responsibilities: Under general direction, typically reporting to a project manager * Manages the day-to-day operations of the training function on assigned project * Develops and implements comprehensive training programs across multiple disciplines * Develops training policies and procedures * Responsible for training budget and oversight * May serve as training subject matter expert in one or more specific technical areas * May act as a lead for other training staff members * Participates in site wide training program management assessments and properly addresses findings and/or corrective actions * Assists in the development and management of the Educational Assistance program Grade 26:   Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 12+ years of experience in establishing and maintaining programs in compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as developing and implementing corrective action plans related to compliance shortfalls is preferred. Level Specific Responsibilities: Under general direction, typically reporting to the Training Manager * Developing, planning and conducting management/Self-Assessments for the Training and Development Group. This includes developing lines of inquiry, interviewing individuals, and writing assessment reports * Perform causal analysis on issues and developing and managing corrective action plans to completion * Implements comprehensive training programs across multiple disciplines * Integrate training with issues management requirements & trend analysis. Track issues and meet regularly with the Training Manager to determine appropriate solutions * Interfaces with the customer (project or functional groups) and provides effective solutions based on following the SAT/ADDIE training model * Integrate with the Training Manager to establish the Triennial DOE-STD-1070-94 assessment schedule * Develops training policies and procedures * Forecasts training needs each quarter, and reports the need to the Training Manager * Attend TROTS and causal analysis interviews, and assist with developing the final reports from a training perspective * Submit evaluation/analysis, CAP, and CA closure within the QAS system * Act as subject-matter advisor on training aspects of inspections, audits, and Corrective Action Measures (CAMs) * Participates in site wide training program management assessments and properly addresses findings and/or corrective actions * Experience establishing and maintaining programs in compliance with regulatory requirements Knowledge of industry or regulatory codes and standards relevant to training     Relocation: ☐ YES ☒ NO UCOR prohibits smoking in enclosed areas, including company vehicles.
