Your Opportunity:
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager of Cardiac Sciences, Medical Services and Clinical Neurosciences and Unit Manager of Ambulatory Neurosciences, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for staff development, program development (including quality improvement) and leadership within Ambulatory Neurosciences and Day Medicine at South Health Campus. This position is responsible for planning and implementing a variety of educational programs necessary to ensure best practice guidelines in the care provided within the Clinical Neurosciences departments and Day Medicine (.84 FTE). Clinical Neurosciences and Day Medicine are part of the largest ambulatory footprint at the South Health Campus, consisting of some of the most complex clinics and procedures with zonal programs. The CNE develops and provides educational supports and programs for patients, families and the entire multidisciplinary team. They also ensure all guidelines, policies and protocols are up to date and current. They work closely with the Management team to addresses obstacles to ensure the safe delivery of care and aligns practices throughout the zone with like clinics. They also ensure pathways to care are followed and staff competencies are up to date within the department. he position will work closely with QI initiatives in Day Medicine as well as in Clinical Neurosciences. There are many efficiencies needed to improve workflow within clinics and decrease wait times with procedures; this would require the help of an educator to work with our Connect Care teams on orders, smart phrases and charting guidelines for best practice in each discipline.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
