Instructor/Assistant Professor West Virginia University School of Nursing/Bridgeport, WV West Virginia University School of Nursing Bridgeport Department located at Bridgeport, WV invites applications for Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Non-Tenure Clinical Education Track. This is a full-time, twelve-month, benefits eligible position. This position will report to the department chairperson. Faculty Responsibilities: Didactic and Clinical teaching in BSN programs with a focus on adult health/medical surgical content. In addition to didactic and clinical teaching, other formats of teaching, including traditional classroom instruction, skills lab, small group, on-line and simulation teaching may be included. Coordination of didactic and clinical courses. Student advisement may be needed. Service on campus, school and university committees. Attendance at required campus, school and university events. Master’s degree (MSN) in nursing and one year of professional nursing practice experience Applicants with two (2) years of teaching experience in nursing are encouraged to apply. Required to have unencumbered WV RN License by position start date. Applicants with an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field are encouraged to apply. Evidence of current experience in teaching sufficient to demonstrate professional competence. Initial appointment requires: two years of professional nursing practice experience. Preferred experience: Adult Health/Medical Surgical Nursing. Opportunity to teach in Maternal Women's Health Nursing and/or Mental Health Nursing if experience aligns.
