Centre of Oncological Research in Surgery (COORS) intends to build a culture of innovation and collaboration that will drive research breakthroughs and be capable of changing approaches to cancer prevention, screening, and treatment; in the process, it will improve the lives of cancer survivors. The main core focus areas of COORS are: advancing basic science research in cancer; organizing and conducting epidemiological and population-based research and initiating clinical trials in surgical oncology and related area. CRM is inviting applications for the position of Instructor from outstanding and ambitious candidates. Responsibilities: An Instructor will serve in areas of research, education, scholarship, funding applications, health and safety, ethics, and other duties. Professors will report to the Director, CRM to initiate and run a prospective Pakistan Brain Tumor Epidemiology Study manage Biorepository conduct his or her research related to surgical oncology expand current areas of research in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology work in teams including post-docs, clinical fellows, and PhD students develop and submit extramural grant proposals develop and foster multi-disciplinary collaboration with faculty from across AKU and UCSF engage and assist in developing specific modules/courses for graduate students in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine oversee and manage teams and research, ensuring thesis development, publications, procuring funding, budgeting, and maintaining compliance with laboratory and ethical protocols create and present regular progress reports to the Director CRM and UCSF at periodic intervals, including a quinquennial review to an international committee develop and foster a sustained scientific collaboration with colleagues at UCSF. Requirements: Applicants must: have a PhD in the relevant subject area be research active with first-hand laboratory experience have experience supervising graduate students, post-docs, and fellows have published in journals of international repute have good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English have a track record of extramural grant funding develop collaborations with faculty across the different disciplines at AKU and UCSF.
