Advertised Position Title: Instructor, Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description: Essential Functions: Article 7 of the OFA contract Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Ohio Nursing Practice Act/Rules/Regulations Knowledge of Ohio Nurse Aide scope of practice pertaining to the ODH standards for NATCEP standards and guidelines. Knowledge caring for the chronically ill and elderly. Knowledge of safety standards and hazards in the health care setting. Computer skills including Word and Power Point Ohio Department of Health Portal. Strong verbal and written skills. Operation of electric hospital beds, mechanical lifts, and safety equipment used in caring for patients. Ability to delivery lecture to groups of students up to 30. Ability to plan and organize lecture and learn lab material. Ability to supervise and instruct students in skill lab and clinical work in a fast-paced multitasking environment Leadership and mentoring qualities. Strong documentation skills and verbal skills. Ability to demonstrate dependability, flexibility, self- organization. Team oriented, able to work independently. Able to multitask multiple students in classes, lab, and clinical settings. Minimum Requirements: 2-year associate degree in nursing or LPN Possess a current, valid license issued under Chapter 4723. of the Revised Code to practice nursing as a registered nurse-Primary Instructor (PI) or as an LPN for supplemental instruction and a TTT certificate for an RN from a NATCEP program or must be willing to take the course (2) Have a minimum of two years of Full-time nursing, with at least one year experience in evaluating the clinical skills of individuals providing care for the elderly or chronically ill in the provision of Long-term Care (3) Provide documentation that they have, at minimum: (a) Successfully completed or must be willing to complete a TTT program approved by the director or the director's designee pursuant to division (D) of section 3721.31 of the Revised Code and paragraph (A) of rule 3701-18-16 of the Administrative Code; Any state, federal, or professional licenses, certifications, or certificates required: Current unencumbered Ohio RN or Practical nursing certificate or multistate compact license, TTT or must be willing to take TTT for RNs from NATCEP, American Heart Association CPR instructor current, TB test annually Union Position: Owens Faculty Association Job Classification: Faculty Duty Days: 173 Days Work Schedule: Per OFA contract Grant Funded Position: No - Not Grant Funded FLSA Status: United States of America (Exempt) Pay Basis: Salary Hiring Range $50,000.00 More than 1,380 full- and part-time employees contribute to Owens' success.
