Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. The Instructor-Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for facilitating education based on principles of adult learning for staff in Continuing Care. The CNE assesses, designs, creates, facilitates, coordinates and evaluates the implementation of education to promote clinical competence & the best possible client care. The CNE acts as a role model & resource to staff for professional development & clinical competency. This position works with an interdisciplinary team & consults with managers to determine learning needs & operational requirements. Supports new staff & encourages best practice related to nursing. Supports the use of RAI as a clinical assessment tool through the provision of RAI education, reviews, & one on one coaching & mentorship. Supports clinical service delivery. Supports the integration & workflow development of Connect Care into nursing practice. Facilitates site based training & workshops & is instrumental in content creation for the Home Living portfolio. Attends home visits, clinic visits & case conferences with clinical staff. Provides leadership & expertise for nursing best practice. Chairs nursing meetings & committee meetings as required. Maintains competence in advanced clinical practice relevant to Home Living & acts as a consultant to staff/management regarding clinical issues. Influences & supports a culture of professional growth. Assists with the assessment of education needs of staff & the identification of appropriate learning resources.
Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
