Description Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in a designated subject area. Duties/Responsibilities: Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation. Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning. Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles. Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport. Complete Evaluations of Student Progress (ESP’s) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested. Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma. Meets individually with students assigned at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available. Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders. Records daily attendance. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms. Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for. Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms. Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations. Assists Manager during scheduled inventory. Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum: Must Have Vocational Teaching Credential or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire. Must have practical experience in subject/trade area. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives. Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience. Knowledge: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
