The MacPhail School of Energy is the only energy school in Canada, and we are charting a new course with a focus on sustainable energy sources and practices. MacPhail School of Energy provides hands-on, industry-guided training in labs that mimic job site environments, giving students the skills needed to find a rewarding career in the energy sector.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The MacPhail School of Energy is currently looking for individuals who are interested in teaching the next generation of professionals in their field.
We are looking for instructors to teach in the Electrical Apprenticeship and Pre-Employment Electrician programs. Teaching these programs requires in-depth knowledge of electrical theory, the Canadian Electrical Code, and current industry trade practices across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. As part of our team, you are encouraged to be bold and inventive, bringing new ideas to the table to enhance student learning and program development.
Note: SAIT, as a post-secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE



    • Red Seal Electrician certification is required.

    • Master Electrician certification is an asset.
    • A minimum of five years of field experience as a Journeyperson Electrician is preferred.
    • Prior teaching or mentoring experience in the electrical trades is strongly valued.
    • Teaching experience at university or college level is an asset.
    • A university degree would be an asset.
    • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
    • Comfortable and engaging in public speaking, with a passion for sharing knowledge.
    • Demonstrates a positive, respectful, and professional attitude with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
    • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications to support teaching and administrative tasks.
    • Skilled in reading, interpreting, and delivering technical curriculum content in a way that connects theory to real-world practice.
