Advertised Position Title: Instructor, Emergency Medical Management Job Description: Essential Functions: Per Article 7.0 in the OFA contract Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A thorough knowledge of principles of Emergency Medicine to an extent where the candidate would be comfortable teaching all levels of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Familiarity with appropriate instruction and course management software. In depth knowledge of National and State scope of practice for all levels of EMT In depth knowledge of all Ohio Revised Code (ORC) and Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) as it relates to Emergency Medical Service in regard to education In depth knowledge of guidelines set by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions Knowledge of creating Continuing Education courses for EMS professionals Ability to create simulations and appropriate lab experience for students Minimum Requirements: HS diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of teaching initial Paramedic education Minimum of 5 years as an Ohio Paramedic with no discipline issues from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Required state, federal, or professional licenses, certifications, or certificates: Current, active Ohio Paramedic certification in good standing Current and active Fire and Emergency Services Instructor level II in good standing: FESI-II ACLS Provider (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Basic Life Support (BLS CPR) - Provider Current, unrestricted driver’s license Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of teaching initial Paramedic education The last 10 years as a certified, Ohio Paramedic with no discipline from Ohio Department of Public Safety Union Position: Owens Faculty Association Job Classification: Faculty Duty Days: 173 Days Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Grant Funded Position: No - Not Grant Funded FLSA Status: United States of America (Exempt) Pay Basis: Salary Hiring Range $50,000.00 More than 1,380 full- and part-time employees contribute to Owens' success.
