INSTRUCTOR, HEALTH CARE AIDE (TERM PART-TIME)

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated August 11, 2025 up to June 19, 2026)

SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

• The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a combination of Health Care Aide and equivalent work experience may be considered
• Several years of recent clinical practice experience
• Ability to teach on campus and remotely
• Ability to carry out formative and summative assessments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
• Effective leadership skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree
• Valid and current CPR certificate
• Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
• Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
• Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
• Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction

Reporting to the Chair, Nursing Affiliated Programs, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an instructor for the Health Care Aide program. The instructor will deliver both the theoretical and practical aspects of the HCA program. Duties include but are not limited to delivery, development, and modification of curriculum, conducting student assessments and, performing lab and/or clinical supervisions and evaluation of students, maintaining lab and classroom equipment, and performing related administrative responsibilities as required.
