SUMMARY

The Department of Medicine is seeking an accomplished individual at the Instructor level to contribute to impactful cancer research. The department encompasses fourteen sections focusing on clinical disciplines within internal medicine, including three research-focused sections: Cardiovascular Research, Health Services Research, and Epidemiology and Population Sciences. This position, situated within the Section of Epidemiology and Population Sciences, is ideal for a candidate with advanced training and a robust publication record in cancer prevention, control, and health disparities. The successful applicant will advance research efforts, contribute to manuscripts and grants, and engage in community-based initiatives to improve health outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctoral degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cancer prevention, health disparities, and community health interventions.
  • Strong publication record showcasing research in health promotion and cancer prevention.
  • Proficiency in mixed-methods research.
  • At least 2 years of postdoctoral research experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mixed-methods research, including designing and conducting interviews and focus groups with diverse
  • stakeholders, such as cancer patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and community health workers.
  • Develop and implement interventions to enhance cancer care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Co-lead initiatives to improve cancer prevention and screening among underserved populations.
  • Design, execute, and interpret data analyses, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Evaluate research findings to inform intervention design and dissemination.
  • Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications to support scholarly dissemination and funding acquisition.
  • Provide mentorship and training for junior research staff and analysts.
