KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The Instructor/Lifeguard 1 position requires: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by a minimum of 500 hours of related lifeguarding experience and courses in lifesaving, aquatic skills, instruction and pool operations and maintenance as required for the certifications listed below.
Candidates without Grade 12 or 500 hours experience may be considered for Auxiliary Junior Instructor/Lifeguard employment.
SKILL SCREENING:
Candidates will be required to attend one (1) mandatory skills screening assessment and group interview on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 8am-12pm OR 1pm-5pm at Minoru Centre for Active Living.
In addition, successful candidates will be required to attend an Orientation session on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 4-9pm at Minoru Centre for Active Living and a shadow shift at both Minoru Centre for Active Living (One of Nov 12: 4-8pm, Nov 15: 8am-12pm, or Nov 16: 8am-12pm) and Watermania (One of Nov 13: 3:45pm-7:45pm, Nov 8: 8am-12pm, or Nov 9: 8am-12pm) Further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates. Candidates who are unable to attend these dates may not be considered.
