Qualifications

• Relevant marine industry experience, such as vessel operations, marine safety, or maritime regulations, with the ability to translate practical knowledge into effective instruction.
• Experience in teaching, training, or instructing adults, including lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment of learner progress.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and support learners with diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, compliance with applicable marine and training regulations, and attention to detail in documentation.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Richmond Hill, ON, including flexibility to teach daytime, evening, or weekend sessions as needed.
• Relevant certifications or licenses in marine operations or safety (e.g., boating safety, marine navigation, first aid/CPR) are highly beneficial.
• Post-secondary education in marine studies, education, or a related field is an asset.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and training tools (e.g., presentation software, online learning platforms) to support instruction and record-keeping.
