DEPARTMENT:             Mathematics  REPORTS TO:                Chair, Mathematics  * Full-Time Tenure Track Opportunity begins Fall 2026   Middlesex College seeks a dynamic, innovative Mathematics Educator to teach general mathematics (e.g., statistics, calculus) and lead the development of Data Analytics degrees and certificates. This tenure-track position offers the opportunity to shape curriculum, mentor students, and prepare graduates for high-demand STEM careers. We value inclusive teaching, applied learning, and industry-aligned instruction. The position includes a 15-contact-hour teaching load per semester (typically five 3-credit courses, depending on modality and departmental needs) and five (5) office hours per week for advisement and tutoring, along with participation in departmental and college-wide activities.   PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Teach high-demand general mathematics courses in multiple modalities as assigned by the department chair, supporting high-quality instruction. 2. Participate in establishing Data Analytics programs and certificates, including stackable credentials and terminal degree options. 3. Lead development of data analytics and related courses (e.g., Introduction to Data Analytics, Applied Statistics with Lab, Data Visualization & Storytelling, Spreadsheet and Database Analytics) and update curricula to reflect current trends in analytics, data ethics, and best practices. 4. Play an active role in strengthening mathematics programs, especially Data Analytics, by integrating foundational concepts with industry-standard tools and the full data lifecycle. 5. Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery, including but not limited to maintaining accurate records of student performance, grades, and attendance in accordance with college policies and deadlines. 6. Hold regular office hours (five office hours per week) and provide academic guidance, including support with study strategies and referrals to tutoring and other learning resources. 7. Participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide services, and engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in mathematics content, pedagogy, instructional technology, and student success practices.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related STEM field with at least 18 graduate credits in Statistics or Mathematics Education * Demonstrated experience teaching mathematics and statistics at the college level * Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) * Strong communication skills and commitment to student-centered, inclusive teaching * Demonstrated success supporting retention and success of underrepresented students in STEM   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Doctorate in Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field * Industry experience as a Data Analyst, or similar role * Experience designing certificate or degree programs  * Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER) and strategies to reduce student costs  SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:   SCHEDULE:            Ten (10)-Month Position                                                           RETIREMENT:        Pension Eligible
