Job Description: The Nursing Instructor position is an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of January 2026. This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The nursing programs provide quality educational opportunities for students seeking to enter the healthcare arena as baccalaureate degree nurses, associate degree nurses, or practical nurses in order to meet the health care needs of the community. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses in the department with the possibility of day, evening, weekend, or on-line teaching assignments as assigned. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver subject matter content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and College committees, participate in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, perform the assessment of student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities. This position reports to the Director of Nursing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an institution with accreditation by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting agency with a bachelor's degree in nursing, current Florida license without restrictions required by the first date of employment, American Heart BLS card, and two years current experience required. Successful results of a criminal background check and drug screen required. Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment. SALARY RANGE: $50,708.00 - $56,708.00 for an 11-month contract with a bachelor’s degree. $53,458.00 - $59,458.00 for an 11-month contract with a master’s degree. $58,208.00 - $64,208.00 for an 11-month contract with a doctoral degree. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer graduation from an institution with accreditation by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting agency with a doctoral degree in nursing, post-secondary teaching experience, and experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
