QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Occupational Health & Safety Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of local experience working in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Teaching experience is an asset

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety expert who is passionate about the industry to mentor aspiring Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) professionals as OHS Instructor at our Hamilton campus. Please note that this will require day time schedules (9am to 1pm) for the virtual classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Observe students to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other individual characteristics
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives effectively to students
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs, abilities, and interests
  • Prepare students for further education by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities in advance
  • Instruct students in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
  • Provide clear, precise, and consistent direction and support to students
