Position Title: Instructor of Public Management- Valparaiso-Merrillville Area Compensation: $6,000.00 Department: Div of Lifetime Learning, NonCredit - Temp Start Date: 03/31/2026 About this opportunity: Lifetime Learning is welcoming applications for a part-time instructor to teach Ball State University’s Certified Public Manager accredited training course in the Valparaiso-Merrillville area of Indiana. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: Approximately 39-78 hours of instructional time in Fishers, Indiana teaching Ball State University’s Certified Public Manager accredited training. This position has a desired start date of 09/01/2025 and a position end date of 08/31/2026. Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee one class of state & local public managers from September 2025 – August 2026 (12 sessions) OR half of one class of state & local public managers for six months within that timeframe (6 sessions). Maintain full day class sessions once per month (approximately 6.5 hours of instruction time for each session). Take attendance for each session. Deliver instruction from a pre-determined curriculum that will be provided. Have students complete pre-tests, post-tests, and evaluations for each session on the day that will be provided. Grade monthly post-session assignments students submit to the Ball State CANVAS learning management system that will be provided. Maintain high standards of excellence in line with the National Consortium of Certified Public Managers and Ball State University. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus Certified Public Manager credential (i.e., Phase I and Phase II completed if obtained in Indiana) OR Master’s degree equivalent in related field. Two or more years of experience managing state, county, city, town, and/or other government-affiliated employees. Prior or current work experience in the state of Indiana OR prior or current residency in the state of Indiana.
