The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, is the regional leader in establishing high quality clinical service and academic programs. The current clinical facility consists of 60 beds including fast track, separate adult and paediatric emergency units, cardiac emergency, a clinical decision unit, resuscitation rooms, isolation rooms and triage. The main Emergency Department (ED) provides care to over 75,000 patients a year. Most patients require complex medical and surgical/trauma care. In addition, the department supervises a satellite free standing emergency department. The Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Instructor (Paeds Section), Department of Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: Involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research along with specified administrative and clinical responsibilities including floor coverage. Coordinate and independently conduct life-saving training courses such as ACLS and PALS. Supervise and support SMOs, MOs, interns, and students in clinical decision-making and patient management. To conduct research on topics of interest in Emergency Medicine and publish at least one original paper each year. Participate in departmental administrative committees and contribute to clinical audits, protocol development, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure JCIA, infection control, and safety compliance in all clinical practices. Requirements: Candidate must have completed structured post-graduate training (Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine) from a reputable institution and possess FCPS Part I and eligible for FCPS-II or equivalent, with a valid PMDC license.
