Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor in Section of Pulmonology, Department of Medicine. Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible to: provide accessible, compassionate, ethical, evidence based and patient centered care to all patients getting into the emergency department with pulmonary /respiratory symptoms. achieve this the instructor is supposed to stay in ER or in close contact with ER team while on duty and will be responsible for the decision taking under supervision of on-call pulmonology faculty, Instructor will also be responsible to actively identify the delays in the management of acute pulmonary emergencies and provide timely critical feedback and way forward to team. Instructor will share in house on call duty/rota of Medicine Instructors in PZP/ICU when required supervision of residents/ medical officers and help them in patients care and performing procedures act as a liaison person between and faculty when required help the Year 4 pulmonology coordinator for teaching and smooth rotation of under-graduates rotating in Pulmonology conduct simulation sessions in CIME as per year 4 undergraduate curriculum help in conducting end of rotation exam of undergraduate students conduct teaching sessions for Pulmonology residents at least 1/week participate in CME activities of Section participate in the clinical research related to pulmonary diseases with faculty participate in the sectional, departmental, and organizational research activates facilitate PGME trainees in research. Eligibility Criteria / Requirements: You should have: MBBS FCPS 1/IMM/MRCP/American Boards in any Medicine Specialty 1 year house job completed structured Medicine/ Pulmonology Residency Program from a reputable institution. in addition, candidate should have demonstrated scholarship either through research and publications in peer reviewed indexed journals or by virtue of substantial contributions to education. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
Responsibilities
The instructor will provide patient-centered care for pulmonary emergencies and supervise residents and medical officers. They will also conduct teaching sessions and participate in clinical research related to pulmonary diseases.
