INSTRUCTOR, THEORY, HEALTH UNIT CLERK (TERM PART-TIME)

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated August 18, 2025 up to February 20, 2026)

SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

  • The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Manitoba or eligible for registration as an RN or LPN in Manitoba
  • Several years of recent and relevant clinical experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair, Nursing Affiliated Programs, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Classroom Theory instruction of Health Unit Clerk students. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Order Transcription, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Orders, and Admission, Transfer and Discharge. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
