INSTRUCTOR, TRANSPORTATION, LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Skilled Trades, Transportation and Technologies – School of Continuing Education
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available

SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

  • The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Several years of industry experience in project management, preferably within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain sectors
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including planning, estimating, and risk management
  • Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices
  • Proficient using technology, such as Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Flexibility to teach both online and in-person
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous teaching or training experience, particularly in a post-secondary or adult education setting
  • Experience in curriculum and/or program development
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • CITT Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair, Skilled Trades, Transportation, and Technologies in the School of Continuing Education, the Instructor will be responsible for facilitating instruction in the Project Management (PM) courses within the Transportation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management certificate program. Key areas of instruction include PM Fundamentals, PM Plan & Estimate, PM Risk, and facilitating students through the Applied Capstone Project. The successful candidate will also spearhead future evolutions of the program, such as integrating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to eventually replace or augment the Applied Capstone Project. Duties will include the preparation of course materials and assessments, instruction of students and evaluation of assessments. Duties related to instructing include curriculum development and maintenance, preparing course outlines, maintaining student records, student evaluation, and assisting in College activities including student orientation, graduation, and relevant committees.
