Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at CMHS, UAEU, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer/Instructor position. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s academic, clinical, and educational missions through high-quality teaching, student mentorship, and clinical service. This position is suited for a clinically qualified professional with a passion for medical education, who is committed to training future physicians in alignment with UAEU’s vision of excellence in teaching, research, and clinical care. Key Responsibilities: 1. Teaching & Academic Duties • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical clinical skills sessions for undergraduate medical students in OB/GYN. • Assist in curriculum development, instructional design, and implementation of innovative teaching strategies (e.g., case-based learning, simulation). • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations, bedside teaching, and OSCEs. • Contribute to the development and administration of assessments (written exams, OSCEs, mini-CEX). • Participate in the integration of OB/GYN with interdisciplinary modules across the MBBS program. • Provide remedial and enrichment support for students as required. 2. Clinical Support and Supervision • Participate in patient care services at affiliated teaching hospitals (e.g., Tawam Hospital, Kanad Hospital, Al Joharah Hospital, other affiliated clinical sites), under supervision or within scope of practice. • Supervise medical students and interns during clinical training in outpatient clinics, labor wards, operating Rooms, and inpatient settings. • Model professionalism, ethical practice, and effective communication in clinical teaching. 3. Research and Scholarly Contribution • Support ongoing research projects within the department as appropriate. • Participate in educational, research, community or quality improvement initiatives, particularly in medical education and clinical skills training for the students within the department. • Attend departmental academic meetings, journal clubs, and educational development sessions. 4. Departmental and Institutional Service • Participate in department-level and college-wide committees, including curriculum, student affairs, and accreditation committees. • Assist in organizing educational workshops, OSCEs, clerkship orientations, and interdepartmental collaborations. • Support the department’s contributions to national exams, CME events, and community outreach. • Participate in all other CMHS, UAEU educational, research and Community services as per UAEU regulations.
