Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Instrument Assembly Production Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of instrument assembly. This person will lead continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with management to support area +QDIP initiatives using lean manufacturing tools. The position will perform technical, multi-disciplined tasks to improve manufacturing quality and product performance.
This position is part of the Operations Engineering Team located in Loveland, Colorado, and will be on site.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • B.S. or equivalent in related Engineering or Technology degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with design change processes (ECO/DCO) preferred.
  • Proven experience leading technical projects.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • CAD (2D/3D) experience.

Responsibilities
  • Identifying and resolving safety risks and uncontrolled hazards
  • Using Daily Management and Problem Solving DIVE process to improve focus factory KPI’s – 4E risk score, Customer Complaints, First Pass Yield, Scrap, On Time Delivery, Production Lines Down, and Labor Productivity
  • Maintaining accurate production data, including labor routings, BOM’s, part costs, cycle times, and standard work playbooks
  • Creating and updating manufacturing work instructions and validate manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Initiating engineering change orders and documentation changes in accordance with quality management system standards
  • Leading capital expense projects through all project phases
  • Coordinating changes cross-functionally with planning, purchasing, sourcing, quality, and R&D departments
  • Identifying, prioritizing, and leading continuous improvement initiatives using VES Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Providing input to product design teams to facilitate Lean Manufacturing production and Design for Manufacturability during all phases of New Product Introduction
