JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENT FITTER Shop-Based Position | Day & Night Shifts Available ---------------------------------------- POSITION OVERVIEW We are hiring experienced Instrument Fitters for industrial shop environments in the Houston area. This role involves fitting, assembling, and installing instrumentation tubing and components, as well as supporting calibration and system setup based on engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong experience with tubing layout, P&ID drawings, and precision work in a manufacturing or fabrication setting. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Run and install pneumatic tubing for instrumentation systems * Layout and route tubing on skids and equipment * Connect tubing to end devices and components * Bend stainless steel tubing (¼” to ½”) to required specifications * Fabricate brackets, supports, and instrument racks as needed * Read and interpret blueprints, P&ID drawings, and work instructions * Ensure installations meet quality and engineering standards * Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S practices) * Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements * Support production and assist team members as needed ---------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS * Minimum 4+ years of experience as an instrument fitter (tubing and bending required) * Experience working with stainless steel tubing * Ability to read blueprints and P&ID drawings * Basic understanding of instrumentation systems and flow processes * Strong math skills and attention to detail * Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions * Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus ---------------------------------------- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Experience in manufacturing or industrial shop environments * Familiarity with instrumentation components and end devices * Knowledge of structural materials and fabrication basics * Understanding of lean manufacturing practices ---------------------------------------- WORK ENVIRONMENT This role is performed in an industrial shop environment and may include: * Standing, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift * Lifting up to 50 lbs * Non-climate-controlled conditions * Required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots; hearing protection as needed) * Shifts up to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week depending on production needs ---------------------------------------- COMPENSATION $20.00 – $28.00/hr (based on experience, skill level, and assignment) * Weekly pay * Opportunities for long-term placement * Potential for advancement based on performance ---------------------------------------- EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to background or protected status.
