NISC IV currently has an opening for an Instrument Flight Procedure Coordination Team Lead supporting the FAA National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) program in its Oklahoma City, OK location. The selected candidate must provide technical expertise, program transition support, and project implementation support to AJV-5 Aeronautical Information Services, in support of the concepts and principles contained in FAA Order 8260 Terminal Instrument Procedures Development, FAA Order 8260 Flight Procedures and Airspace, and other applicable Orders and Directives that pertain to Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Additional years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Airspace and Procedures background (Instrument Flight Procedures)Air Traffic Control Experience (FAA, Contractor or Military)Commercial Instrument Rated Pilot (Military or Civilian)
• Certified Instrument Flight Instructor A degree in an Aeronautics, Aviation, or Air Traffic Control career field.
• Previous experience with FAA or DoD terminal instrument procedures (TERPS).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust background investigation.

• Review aeronautical information/publications when released to confirm that air navigation information and technical data content is accurate and correct. Initiate corrective action where discrepancies are discovered and, if necessary, accomplish amendment(s) for affected procedure(s).
• Coordinate as necessary for ESV with tech ops, air traffic personnel, and other contacts including regional and field Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) offices, National Flight Data Center (NFDC), military and airline representatives, state and local and field FAA offices, military and airline representatives, state and local aviation officials, aircraft and airport operators.
• Validate requirements for all ESV approvals on file within AJV-5 Aeronautical Information Services. This ensures the Spectrum Engineering capabilities of all facilities are met. Once validated, the current spectrum data is entered into the ESV Management System (ESVMS).
• Provide support to the National Flight Procedures Group in the areas of program transition and production project support.
• Provide daily tracking of all Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) for all Production Charting Cycles. Accumulating all the Metrics per Chart Cycle for tracking the ISO/QMS measures and program reviews.
• Process and validate digital files to Flight Inspection and the Gateway (IFP Production Plan and IFP Coordination) in support of the production cycle.
• Provide Mitigation report by tracking Hard Date procedure information to ensure procedures meet processing deadlines. Identifies procedures needing additional actions to mitigate discrepancies.
• Review, verify, and compile Magnetic Variance (MAGVAR) declination actions. Maintain a list of Airports with the assigned MAGVAR of Record and Epoch year, the projected MAGVAR for the next Epoch year in whole degree increments, and for planning purposes, an indication of the difference of the MAGVAR of record and the projected MAGVAR. Upload the Toolbox for accessible to AJV teams.
• Using data queries, maintains/updates the National Strategic Production Planning document (NSPP), which tracks procedure development and timelines for entry into the National Airspace System (NAS). Make changes to the NSPP document, based on validated user inputs and forwards document to applicable parties weekly.
• Track, document, and upload all Critical Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) data to the website each Production cycle for use in Production. Use the AIS Production Workflow System (APWS) to assist the Production Teams to track and clean-up projects that have been split, moved to another Charting Cycle, deleted, or just became orphaned.
• Review, validate, compile packages, and upload electronic procedure packages for submission to charting and aeronautical data.
