Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Works under close supervision of RN to clean and high level disinfect endoscopes and other equipment used for endoscopy procedures * Knowledgeable of cleaning and disinfecting solutions used * Monitors and records parameters for disinfecting solutions * Wears PPE as required * Follows infection control policies and procedures; attends annual infection control in-service * Monitors and records operation of steam sterilizer * Steam sterilizes appropriate equipment according to procedure * Follows procedure for cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging of instruments * Performs autoclave cleaning and maintenance according to manufacturer's recommendations * Maintains disinfection log records * Stocks supplies as needed * Keeps area clean, free of food, and soiled lined emptied * Maintains eye wash station and records weekly checks * Cleans exhaust hood filters * Knows location and usage of MSDS and spill kits * Informs supervisor of problems with any equipment Other Duties: * As assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS Required: Preferred: ADA Physical Demands: Rarely (Less than .5 hrs/day) Occasionally (0.6 – 2.5 hrs/day) Frequently (2.6 – 5.5 hrs/day) Continuously (5.6 – 8.0 hrs/day) Physical Demand Required?
