Add Location : Unki Mine Shurugwi Job Description To maintain, operate, repair, and optimize control systems, instrumentation, and related mechanical components that ensure safe, efficient, and reliable mining operations. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Safe achievement of maintenance tasks to support production performance. Ensuring that work area is maintained to the required housekeeping standards. All safety devices are operational and in use. Conducts and participate in Risk assessments Attending to breakdowns and emergencies as required. Checklists and inspections are up to date and accurate. Assessment of employee competency as required. Maintenance of machinery and equipment. Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s) Take responsibility for the proper discipline of any subordinates. Report any contraventions of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations, codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions etc Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks Timely and accurate information Support, coach and participate in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment (sensors, transmitters, gauges, controllers). Diagnose and repair faults in control systems and mechanical instrumentation. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on C&I equipment. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Support production teams by minimizing downtime through rapid fault-finding and repair. Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment performance. Collaborate with engineers and electricians on system upgrades and modifications. Qualifications 5 'O' Levels subjects Trade Test Certificate or equivalent qualification in Control & Instrumentation. Experience, Knowledge and Skills Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining or heavy industrial environments. Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation.
