At GCM Consultants, engineering is a collaborative effort. We take on technically challenging projects that require innovative thinking and strong teamwork. We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to provide efficient, results-oriented solutions for clients in the energy sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Registration with APEGNB considered an asset
  • Experience in the industrial sector considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (French is an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with CAD and 3D modeling software considered an asset
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems an asset
  • Understanding of PLC programming, HMI, DCS, and safety systems considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical circuits and power distribution is an asset
  • Adaptable and resourceful in client-facing environments
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset, particularly for projects outside the Saint John area
Responsibilities

CLIENT-SITE ROLE – ENERGY SECTOR (HYBRID REMOTE)

Location: Saint John, New Brunswick

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop technical specifications for instrumentation and control systems
  • Prepare procurement documents and technical packages
  • Participate in P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) reviews
  • Review and validate engineering drawings to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Conduct site visits and field assessments
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of internal engineering practices
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency
