We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) QCx Engineer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting all Quality Commissioning (QCx) activities through Levels 1–3 of the project lifecycle, ensuring systems meet design intent, regulatory standards, and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen in control systems, commissioning procedures, and documentation management within complex, mission-critical environments. Responsibilities: Participate in and support the QCx process through Levels 1–3 of commissioning Review design documents, equipment specifications, and commissioning plans to ensure alignment with project requirements. Assist with vendor coordination and management, ensuring technical and schedule alignment. Support and perform design specification reviews, manufacturer submittals, one-line drawing analysis, and overall project documentation control. Confirm equipment and systems are installed per project design, local codes, and national standards. Review test documentation for installed equipment to verify functional readiness and performance. Track and report commissioning progress across equipment and systems, maintaining up-to-date documentation. Support commissioning procedures on Instrumentation and Controls systems. Verify system performance against design criteria and operational requirements. Support vendors and trade partners during Functional Performance Testing (FPT) of systems and components. Record test results, deviations, and troubleshooting steps, and ensure all commissioning records are accurate and complete. Identify system deficiencies or installation errors, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Record and manage non-conformance and punch list items, collaborating with stakeholders for timely resolution. Ensure all equipment and systems meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements per OSHA, ASHRAE, NFPA, and project EHS plans. Verify that systems are not energized or operated prior to completion of required safety testing and documentation. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including design engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution. Maintain a general understanding of LEED requirements and their application to commissioning and system performance. Skills Required: Minimum 2+ years of experience in commissioning, quality control, or controls engineering Strong understanding of commissioning workflows, documentation, and control system functionality Experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, and communication protocols Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across multidisciplinary team Education / Licenses / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering (preferred) Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
