Description
Develop technical & design criteria, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA block diagrams, process control functional narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, instrument selection and sizing, and interconnection diagrams. Mentor junior engineers and designers. Prepare budgeting, planning, cost estimating, design and execution of SCADA and instrumentation controls projects and assignments. Provide I&C design to support process control and plant automation. Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup. Identify critical task process/mechanical and electrical disciplines concerns. Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover. Completing, Implementing, and Directing testing and troubleshooting of process control systems. Review unit process control logic in PLCs / OITs on a variety of platforms. Review graphical HMIs, data archiving and report solutions on a variety of platforms. Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums. Assess existing instrumentation and control systems and identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and expected lifecycle. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field of study is required. Candidates must have at least 10 years of instrumentation and control consulting or integration experience in the water and wastewater market. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, along with the ability to obtain a Georgia PE license within one year of hire. The candidate should have basic proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit and be able to self-direct, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and meet project deliverable deadlines while completing other task-driven assignments. They must demonstrate the ability to execute projects and direct the work of others, as well as have experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook. Advanced knowledge of PLC controls and SCADA, along with advanced knowledge of radio and cellular telemetry networks, is essential. The candidate should also have experience troubleshooting control systems and possess basic knowledge of IT, industrial networks, and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have experience in instrumentation and control system design, as well as experience working with IT and industrial networks. They should possess an understanding of PLC, HMI, and DCS configuration and programming, and have control system startup experience.
