Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Instrumentation Lab Technician to support testing in our system development laboratories in Seattle, WA or Tukwila, WA.
In various roles, our instrumentation technicians work with engineers to help design and develop systems, test plans, procedures and equipment that capture critical test data in our laboratories, to ensure our products comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
Our teams develop and operate hardware, software and calibration systems that encompass all aspects of electrical and mechanical systems testing. This work also includes analysis, review and validation of test data and technologies to enhance our efficiency and capabilities. Our engineers and technicians collaborate closely with project and program test teams, as well as technical staff, to define and implement test engineering solutions. We seek energetic, enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals to join our high-performance teams.
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Instrumentation Lab Technicians.
This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 1+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data
  • 1+ years of experience in supporting manufacturing or test operations
  • 1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings
  • 1+ years of experience working with Digital Volt Meters (DVM), Oscilloscopes, AC/DC Power supplies, Frequency Generators, and/or Power Meters
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products like Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with reading technical drawings or schematics and PCB board creation
  • Experience with PID controller
  • Experience with Visio
  • Experience in Instrumentation
  • Experience with sensors: strain gages, load cells, and thermocouple
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, control systems and components
Responsibilities
  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
  • Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
  • Works under general supervision
  • Works with a variety of sensors such as strain gages, load cells, pressure transducers and thermocouples
  • Reads technical drawings
  • Operates control and data systems
