Description

Cranleigh STEM is working with a leading energy company looking to strengthen its engineering team. We’re looking for an instrumentation technician to join them on a permanent basis.
You will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and operation of production and gas plant facilities, to ensure safe and efficient performance across sites.
Salary: £. Competitive
Benefits: Performance based bonus, 25 Days holiday + banks, company pension, life assurance.
Hours: Monday to Friday (07:30-16:30) + Call outs
Location: Alton, Hampshire
Role: Full-time, permanent

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven maintenance experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in instrumentation with strong electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for maintenance tasks.
  • Understanding of the oil and gas industry operations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs.
  • Service and calibrate process control instrumentation (transmitters, controllers, analysers, etc.).
  • Assist with vendor-specified routine maintenance.
  • Maintain site services in compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide 24-hour call-out support for plant breakdowns.
  • Ensure clean and hazard-free working environments.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new plant facilities.
  • Work alongside specialist vendor engineers to ensure efficient servicing.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with issued permits.
  • Assist operational staff and exhibit an understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Perform equipment isolations to meet permit requirements.
  • Continuously improve maintenance practices through training and supplier collaboration.
