Jardeg is recruiting an Instrumentation Technician Journeyperson to join the maintenance team at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The Instrumentation Technician Journeyperson Base Rate is $52.07/hr. This is a permanent position on a 7/7 day shift rotation, working 12 hours per day. All hours worked on the regular maintenance schedule are paid at straight time. Camp accommodation is provided at the Richardson camp, all rooms have a private washroom, and the camp is walking distance to the site footprint. Flights are provided from the Calgary or Edmonton flight hubs.

As an Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Utilize tubing expertise for the installation and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
  • Work with DCS systems and control hierarchy, including Delta V, AMS, and control studio. Experience in instrument commissioning and configuration is an asset.
  • Expertly read and comprehend drawings, specifications, P&ID’s, ILPs, and isometrics.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency with electronic dead weight testers (such as Crystal), process meters (Fluke 744/754 or equivalent), Ralston pumps, TREX/475 field communicators, and other simulating testing equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of various instrument manufacturers, including Rosemount, VEGA, Krohne, Flowserve, Metso, Fisher, Yokogawa, and others.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyperson certification as an Instrumentation Technician or equivalent.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Physical aptitude to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working at heights.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection
  • Aerial Work Platform
  • Basic Rigging
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
