Description Remove old insulation and dispose of it properly Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements Determine the amount and type of insulation needed Measure and cut insulation to fit into walls and around pipes and Valves Fasten insulation in place with SS Wire or SS Bands Installing Refractory Insulation materials inside Furnaces Install Metal Weather barriers to protect insulation from moisture Follow safety guidelines Requirements Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug screen (subject to random drug testing). Must be able to pass a background check. Must have 2 valid forms of Identification. Insulation: 3 years (Preferred) TWIC NCCER (recommended)
Responsibilities
The Insulation Metalman 1 is responsible for removing old insulation and installing new insulation according to blueprints and specifications. This includes measuring, cutting, and fastening insulation materials, as well as installing metal weather barriers and refractory insulation inside furnaces.
