Location: San Antonio, TX Shift: 2nd Shift | Full-Time Monday-Saturday: 3:30PM-2AM Pay: $17.00/hour + 2nd Shift Premium Summary Join the Johnson Controls team as an Insulator at our San Antonio, TX plant. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals while developing essential skills with wrapping units and measuring and cutting material. Essential Job Functions Wrap units with insulation material. Cut and measure material for placement on unit. Fit, adjust, install, and fasten unit or component parts to unit. Marginal Functions Perform housekeeping and other duties as required. Physical/Mental Requirements Lifting 50 lbs. (occasionally), standing (constantly), walking (frequently), bending (frequently), climbing (frequently), crawling (occasionally), reaching (frequently), grasping (frequently), sitting (occasionally), connecting (frequently), pulling (frequently), reading prints (frequently), and exercising judgment (frequently). Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Vision corrected to 20/20. Handling equipment (frequently). Environmental Factors Manufacturing environment – Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), and cold/heat (outdoor). Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery. Tools and Equipment Used Tape measure, small hand tools, power tools, crane, and brazing torch. Qualifications Knowledge of hand tools Ability to read a measuring tape Good hand dexterity required to fit and assemble product Some judgment required Perform math at a level normally acquired through completion of high school Ability to maintain clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required. Depending on the type of Assembler, this person must be able to qualify in the following process: Insulation PSI testing Capability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required.
