POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Clinical Business Analyst, the Finance & Insurance Clerk is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and proactive service to the finance department at the School of Dentistry. Duties consist of day to day financial transaction processing, reporting, file maintenance, clinical accounts receivable including entering incoming insurance payments, submitting and process pre-authorizations, contacting appropriate parties to collect outstanding balance as well as providing financial/insurance support as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary certificate in a related field required
- 1-2 years of Dental office experience required
- Experience using an electronic health record software is required
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) devices, processing payments and completing deposits
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Financial administration in a post-secondary setting is an asset
- Ability to critically analyze all aspects of the patient record and identify any required changes
- Accurate data entry skills; strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and diverse work environment that is dynamic and constantly changing
- Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize activities
- Proficiency using information technology, including MS Office applications and Google Suite
