Description:

Insurance Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Insurance coordinator is responsible for checking patients insurance coverage, both before and after any treatment. This role involves understanding patient needs, and ensuring finding out accurate information about their insurance coverage. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about helping patients achieve their oral health needs. This position is full time with two evenings required per week. Daily training on sales is required.

Success Looks Like:

  • Making sure insurance information is accurate 1 week before patient’s appointments
  • Finding out patient portion before and after the treatment
  • Call insurance company for outstanding account receivable
  • Participating in the daily sales training that is funded by the company
  • Having an excellent understanding of the dental services our clinic offers

Objectives:

  • Pre-authorize all treatment plans 1 week ahead of time
  • Enter insurance payment daily
  • Call insurance company about AR
  • Send out insurance electronically or manually
  • Call patient for outstanding balances
  • Monitor AR and track metrics
  • Implement sales strategies taught in training to meet or exceed targets
  • Track and report performance, including total Pre-auth, total payment entered. AR, etc
  • Understand metrics and how it impacts further career opportunity and promotion
  • Develop expertise within the dental field to ensure explanations to patients are easy to understand
  • Represent House Dental at fundraising events in the community, and other events as needed

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Data entry experience preferred
