THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tetra Tech is adding an Insurance Cost Recovery Documentation Specialist to our Public Assistance team based in Remote capacity. Ideally seeking candidates who reside in the Maitland, Florida or Houston, Texas markets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ of related work experience with working knowledge of federal grant programs, specifically FEMA or FHWA programs, including related statutes, regulations, policies and processes. Four years additional industry experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to determine insurance coverage of residential, commercial, and auto policies.
  • Experience financial analysis is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Prior experience FEMA insurance preferred.
  • Strong organization skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time Management Skills
  • Must possess professional proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically strong Excel skills) and the ability to learn project-specific computer systems as needed (specifically SharePoint, Access, and proprietary computer systems).
Responsibilities

Tetra Tech Inc. currently has an opportunity for an Insurance Cost Recovery Documentation Specialist. Duties include analyzing data and support the review insurance data for duplication of benefits to include review of statements of loss or estimation of insurance proceeds based on insurance policy. Individuals in this position are expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidate needs to support operations in a fast-paced work environment, be able to make independent decisions regarding grant guidance and insurance policy provisions; must be able to understand and interpret the federal grant eligibility and activities; and perform business related research to support client needs. Candidate should work within a team to produce analysis, formulation, development and delivery of materials and results.

  • Create, review, and file accurate project work records to meet applicant needs and auditory requirements.
  • Review insurance documentation and make determination on amount of duplication of benefits, if any.
  • Maintain, track assigned property files and provide input where necessary in the data management information system.
  • Maintaining the financial tracking system for payments received.
  • Data Analysis, data entry, data reconciliation and digital file organization.
  • Assist in documenting and improving processes and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of grant programs in order to interact with applicants, federal agency representatives, peers and project manager.
  • Optimize procedures and maintain communication and focus.
  • Responds quickly to managers, supporting the implementation of projects and organizational efforts to ensure timely, cost effective delivery of high quality products.
  • Travel may be required at times.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
