Description

Our client, recognized for their expertise in commercial litigation and insurance law, is seeking a junior to intermediate-level Litigation Assistant to support 2–3 lawyers in accident benefits and insurance defence/tort litigation.
We’re looking for someone outgoing, professional, and highly organized, with a sharp eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience as a litigation assistant (insurance defence experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and court processes, including Notices to the Profession and Regional Practice Directions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments), and legal accounting software (e.g., Soluno).
  • Professionalism and discretion when working with clients, counsel, and all levels of management.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for busy insurance litigation practices.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare and assemble court materials (pleadings, affidavits, motion records, facta, books of authorities, etc.).
  • Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, and court conferences.
  • File pleadings electronically and coordinate with court offices for trial and motion bookings.
  • Draft and send correspondence; coordinate delivery of legal documents.
  • Assist with Accident Benefits and LAT mediation/arbitration procedures.
  • Handle general administrative tasks (typing, formatting, proofreading, filing, docket entry, calendar management, meeting coordination, etc.).
